Career: Used to work in the IT Department of
The Children's Society a
child care charity working in England. Started in Appeals Admin straight
from University, and then osmosed to my last position, in Technical Support.
Then most the IT Department was spun off into a new company called
Charityshare in Nov 2004,
which is where I am currently working.
Education: Got a BSc in Chemistry at
UMIST (Manchester). Took a foundation
course at Keele.
Claim to Fame: (Net) Started the first
Demon specific FAQ, then continued
writing FAQs, including one for Pegasus Mail, and for Dos Networking, until
"The Bujold Nexus"
(Lois McMaster Bujold authorised website) mostly took over.
Claim to Fame: (SF) Was co-editor of
Earthlight SF & F, one of the first electronic SF
fanzines in the UK during 1986-89 (on Prestel). Started the Lois-Bujold mailing list in
October 1994, setup The Bujold Nexus in May 1996, registered the domain
dendarii.com October 1997.
Fandom: Went to my first convention (Seacon '79) and have been
going ever since. Have been to 10 WorldCons (so far), 24 Eastercons and
18 UK filkcons. I'm a filk lurker, I listen but hardly ever write or perform,
(but see Jack).
